Special note to the reader: Okay this blog post took a weird turn. It started off describing a creative thought I had and then transitioned into why I think creativity is so wonderful. I just wanted to post this because it’s been a while since I posted anything on my blog. My goal is to try to post at least one post a month (it’s a very low goal but one that I’m comfortable with so I’m sticking to it.). Maybe if time and energy allows I’ll post more. I also promise to TRY to do better and more intriguing writing in the future (I’m sure I’m just being hard on myself) but this is what I got for now. I’m working on being my more authentic self in the process so this is just a snippet of what I have to offer. I hope you enjoy the read (or at the very least I hope it makes you think of your own relationship with creativity)!
Now on to that creative thought…
What if our favorite color on Earth was the color of our wings in a previous life? That’s a pretty interesting thought. My favorite color is blue. I think it looks so beautiful and comes in so many different shades. I even have my hair partially dyed blue. I wonder if I had blue wings before I came to Earth. I imagine my wings were possibly a combination of blue and green feathers. I often think about my shoulder blades and my tailbone and imagine what if in a previous existence humans’ shoulder blades were where our wings extended from and we once had tails too. I like to think I had a beautiful bushy tail that would attract mates.
It’s nice to use imagination. Imagination and creativity are twin siblings in this world. Can’t have one without the other I suppose. Add in their close cousin visualization and that would be a great family reunion. When it comes to creativity, I like to think of life sometimes as a blank canvas with an array of colors to use. The colors, the style, the method, and the type of art one does are totally up to them. That’s beautiful. For instance, in the creative world, the leaves of trees can be blue and the sky is green. Anything goes in the creative world. In the creative world, it’s quite possible for fish to speak fluent Portuguese and they can belly dance too. The creative world is so much fun to be in. What if in the creative world our thoughts become images immediately? That might be interesting and maybe a little awkward depending on what you think about.
Creativity is freeing. When you’re used to dealing with the status quo or the dismal of life, creativity can be a welcomed breath of fresh air. There are no limits to how creative you can be and creativity is in the mind’s eye of the beholder. One’s creative expression leaves room for individual interpretation. That’s so uniquely beautiful and exciting.
I haven’t done any official research on this, but I’m sure creativity improves the mood. Just think about it, bringing something into existence that was once in the mind and having it actualized in the physical realm is pretty cool. Wouldn’t that make you happy? Especially if what was created actually gains popularity and traction. Imagine how it would feel if other people could appreciate your vision and your work. That would be just awesome.
