Just Thoughts and Words

Today I’m getting back on the horse and writing consistently again. I took a break over the past few weeks because I ran out of creative fuel, but I feel well-rested and ready to begin again. In all honesty, I’m struggling with life right now. I thought things would get easier and make more sense as I got older, but that doesn’t seem to be happening. I spend most of my days just trying to make it through the day with my wits intact.

On the flip side, I am extremely grateful for the calm moments in my life like the ones I have been experiencing lately. They are a welcome change from the stress, anxiety, and worry over the things I can’t control. Those moments of calm help me to reflect and refocus. Yes, I appreciate those moments.

So today is a brand new day to explore the deep thoughts of my mind to see what’s hiding in there. I’m trying to inspire my creativity because I truly believe, for me, creativity is the key to what I’m trying to accomplish in this life. I don’t believe people are naturally born creative; I think it develops over time. I do think creativity has to do with learning and imagination…that’s why kids are so good at being creative. Plus, kids don’t have to worry about much, like bills or relationships, so they have more brain space to imagine.

I remember being in such a hurry to grow up because I didn’t like being told what to do. I felt trapped in my childhood; now that I’m an adult, even though I’m struggling to figure things out as an adult, I think I prefer it over being a child. I don’t really care for the responsibilities of being an adult, but I guess it comes with the territory. I don’t know; as an adult, there is more stress, but as an adult there is also more fun to be had.

Anyway, I’m not going any place particular with this post…these are just the thoughts running through my head currently. I guess you can consider this post, like some of my other ones, a journal entry of sorts. This is one of the cool things about having my own personal blog…there really are no rules. I can write about anything that comes to mind and share it, as long as it’s appropriate to be shared. Writing makes me happy, and it helps me to sort out the jumble of thoughts in my mind. Writing helps me to be more creative and thoughtful and phrase things that I might not be able to speak so well.

Writing over the past few years has become a friend to me and an emotional outlet. I don’t always know what to write about, but some days, like today, I just write what comes naturally to me. Other days I feel like expressing my quirky side or my serious side, and for me it works wonders. I want to keep up with my writing as long as I can. Who knows where the road may lead?
